Butterfly Neverland

In Mexico, it has been noted that less and less monarch butterflies make it to Mexico every year to hibernate. This decline in population represents a great deterioration in the Monarch species.

Inspiration

My inspiration for this lamp was the Monarch butterfly. This year I decided to help aid the Monarch butterfly population. I reared many eggs and caterpillars until the day I released them, and reintegrated them into the wild. When I watched my very first raised butterfly fly off into the distance, I knew that I may never see it again. But I felt at peace as I imagined it's journey, and the memories it would encounter along the way.
